Orientation for incoming freshmen at Penn Manor High School will be held on Thursday, August 8th. Students and their parents can attend at either 9:00 AM or 6:30 PM. The orientation program will begin in the high school auditorium. After a brief introduction, students and their parents will participate in three short breakout sessions. One session will be with a high school counselor who will address class schedules, developing a four-year plan and career planning. An administrator will review expectations and guidelines for high school, and a teacher will lead a breakout session on academic and classroom expectations. Students will have the opportunity to explore the layout of the high school and find their classrooms after the program, which will last one hour. Orientation for all seventh grade students attending Marticville Middle School this fall will be held on Tuesday, August 13th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Parents are encouraged to attend the program with their child. You will meet with Marticville Middle School’s principal, guidance counselor and other faculty. Students and their parents will have a chance to travel throughout the school and hear important information about Marticville Middle School. Orientation for all seventh grade students attending Manor Middle School this fall will be held on Friday, August 16th from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Parents are encouraged to attend the program with their child. Parents and students will each rotate through various sessions designed to provide information about middle school education. Students will have the opportunity to meet some of the teachers as well as receive information to make the start of the year successful. Parents will learn about the transition to middle school for their child. In addition to meeting representatives from the district office, parents will learn about the team concept, how to stay involved in middle school, and other aspects of middle school education. If parents are unable to attend, they are still encouraged to send their child; students will benefit from the program and feel more prepared for middle school.
