Penn Manor’s technology director, Charlie Reisinger, will be a featured speaker at the May 3 TEDx Lancaster conference at the Ware Center, 42 N. Prince St.
Organized by Millersville University around the theme “Break New Ground,” the event will include 10 speakers, including a robotics engineer, a genomics researcher, an internationally acclaimed pianist and a motivational speaker and distance swimmer who was born without arms or legs.
Reisinger is scheduled to talk about Penn Manor’s 1:1 Student Laptop program and how utilizing open-source technology and the technical skills of students can empower schools to improve student learning .
Presentations will run from 9 a.m. to noon, followed by lunch and roundtable discussions.
TED (“Technology, Entertainment, Design”) conferences were started by a nonprofit organization to share “ideas worth spreading.” Videos of the conferences have been watched by millions of people online. TEDx conferences are independently organized events licensed by TED.
