Congratulations to Hailey Kresge and James Bausano of Penn Manor High School, who have been accepted into the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for Engineering and Technology.
Only 50 students from across the state were chosen to attend the intensive, 14-day program at Lehigh University, which runs from July 20 to Aug. 2.
Established by the state Department of Education, the school provides classroom study, research and enrichment experiences for high school juniors in science, engineering and technology. Hailey and James qualified on the basis of their academic and extracurricular records, teacher recommendations and the essays they wrote as part of the application process.
“I think it’s remarkable for Penn Manor to get two students into a program like this in the same year,” said Sallie Bookman, Penn Manor High School gifted support teacher. “It’s a real feather in their caps.”
