More than 5,000 students returned to the classrooms Monday as Penn Manor School District had a successful start to the new academic year.
“The 2014-2015 school year is filled with firsts, including the new opening of Hambright Elementary School, a new central registration process, a season opener for our football team in Ireland, and boundary realignments with new elementary and middle schools for some of our students,” superintendent Mike Leichliter said.
“Even with a number of changes, the first day went smoothly across Penn Manor. We look forward to an excellent school year for our students and families.”
School will be in session this week through Thursday, Aug. 28. There is no school on Friday, Aug. 29, or Monday, Sept. 1 for the Labor Day holiday.
