Eight PMHS seniors vying for Homecoming crown

Eight Penn Manor High School seniors are vying for the title of 2014 Homecoming Queen, and this year, the crown will go to the candidate who raises the most money for charity.

Cassie Kline, Abby Schlegelmilch, Kirsten Gibson, Allie Ames, Molly Stott, Emma Evarts, Haley Stott and Madeline Manning have been named to the homecoming court. One of them will be chosen as Homecoming Queen during halftime of the Oct. 10 Penn Manor home football game against Manheim Township.

Prior to the game, Penn Manor High School Student Council will host a tailgating party on the parking deck next to the high school from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Food, games, face painting and other activities will be offered.

In a change from previous years, the homecoming court is raising money for the Penn Manor Family Fund, and the candidate who generates the most contributions will earn the crown. The fund benefits district families in need.

Cassie Kline is the daughter of Pat and Laura Kline of Millersville. Her father will be her homecoming escort.

Cassie is a member of the varsity field hockey team, National Honor Society and Spring Fling and Varsity clubs. She plans to major in a medical field and play field hockey at Penn State University.

Abby Schlegelmilch is the daughter of Michael and Michelle Schlegelmilch of Conestoga. Her father will be her homecoming escort.

Abby is a member of the varsity soccer team and Spring Fling Club. She plans to study criminal justice and play soccer at the University of Delaware.

Kirsten Gibson is the daughter of Phil and Kim Gibson of Lancaster. Her father will be her homecoming escort.

Kirsten is a member of the varsity soccer and track teams, Penn Legacy Soccer Club, and the Ski and Spring Fling clubs. She plans to major in elementary education and play soccer at McDaniel College.

Allie Ames is the daughter of Jerry and Kathy Ames of Lancaster. Her father will be her homecoming escort.

Allie is a member of National Honor Society, Varsity Club and Aevidum. She is an officer of the Young Humanitarian League, tri-captain of the varsity cheerleading squad and a member of Grace United Methodist Church Youth Group.

She plans to attend college and pursue a career in health care.

Molly Stott is the daughter of Richard and Dawn Stott of Conestoga. Her father will be her homecoming escort.

Molly is a member of National Honor Society, the Varsity and Ski clubs and Penn Legacy soccer team. She plans to major in pharmacy in college.

Emma Evarts is the daughter of Rob and Julie Evarts of Millersville. Her father will be her homecoming escort.

Emma is a member of the varsity field hockey and lacrosse teams, the Powderpuff team, Student Council and Aevidum. She plans to study nursing and play field hockey at St. Francis University.

Haley Stott is the daughter of Richard and Dawn Stott of Conestoga. Her father will be her homecoming escort.

Haley is a National Honor Society officer and a member of the Varsity and Ski clubs. She plans to attend college and major in nursing.

Madeline Manning is the daughter of Frank and Joy Manning of Lancaster. Her father will be her homecoming escort.

Madeline is a class officer and a member of the cross-country and lacrosse teams, National Honor Society and Aevidum. She plans to attend college and study engineering.
