Volunteers are needed the next two Saturdays, June 13 and 20, to assist with a project to provide classroom furniture to impoverished children in Honduras.
Penn Manor is donating old furniture from Pequea Elementary School to the Central American Relief Efforts, an organization that provides humanitarian aid to residents of Honduras. This will be the third time the school district has donated furniture to CARE for schools in Honduras.
Volunteers are needed both Saturdays, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Pequea Elementary School, 802 Millwood Road, West Willow.
On June 13, volunteers will be disassembling student desks, tables and other furnishing. Please bring a power screwdriver or drill with allen, Phillips head and flat screwdriver bits.
On June 20, volunteers will be loading shipping containers with desks, chairs and other furniture.
Penn Manor staff, community members, students and athletic teams are encouraged to help with the effort. It’s rewarding work for a good cause, so spread the word. Please contact Chris Johnston at chris.johnston@pennmanor.net.
Thanks for helping out!
