Many thanks to state Rep. Bryan Cutler, who visited Martic Elementary School Friday, March 18, to talk about Pennsylvania government and his role as a member of the state Legislature.
Teacher Mary Fellin invited Cutler, who represents the 100th District that includes Martic, to visit the classroom to give her students a better understand the workings of state government — a subject they’ve been studying.
He engaged students in role playing, answered their questions and talked about his school experience and his unusual path to serving as a lawmaker. Cutler worked as an X-ray technician after high school, then went to college and earned a law degree before running for a House seat.
He encouraged students to develop strong reading skills — something he said everyone can use later in life.
