Comet Field will host the 2016 Kickoff Classic beginning at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1.
Chicken dinners will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m., followed by performances by the Penn Manor Marching Unit and cheerleaders and introductions of Penn Manor’s fall sports teams.
U.S. Olympic field hockey team member Jill Witmer, who played for Penn Manor from 2006 to 2010, will be the special guest.
Dinners are $9 and include a half chicken, potato, apple sauce, roll and drink. Tickets can be purchased in advance from student athletes or at the event. Proceeds benefit Penn Manor athletic scholarships.
