Penn Manor school board is scheduled to vote Jan. 6 on a redistricting proposal that was the subject of a public information meeting held Dec. 16.
Under the proposal, some students attending Central Manor, Hambright, Eshleman and Pequea elementary schools would attend different schools beginning in the 2014-2015 school year. Attendance areas for district middle schools also would change. A total of about 60 students would be affected by the changes; their parents have been notified via letter.
The proposed revisions are being driven by changing student enrollments, inequitable student distribution and class sizes in some school buildings and the construction and relocation of Hambright Elementary School to the Manor Middle School campus.
The school board will vote on the proposal at its Jan. 6 meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. in the district office conference room next to Manor Middle School.
